Step Your Fade Game Up

Mike over at Hecklewood came across this blasted out joints while calling out Sufu with these old 66LVCs. There are something serious. I think they are more like art than something I’d want to wear. Put them up in a custom wood frame by Matt Jensen and we’re talking.

Vegas Re-Cap from my office

Well, we missed out on the Las Vegas festivities this year. Quite upset, but we had to keep it moving from the homeland. I’d say the best highlights were Michael from ACL’s photos of random guys, Supernatural’s freestyle and finding out that sweat bands, bucket hats, and batting gloves are still cool in hip hop.

Cosmic Crack Ontour

Is it just me or is this Cosmic Crack Ontour stuff a pretty blatent P.A.M. rip-off? They say it was designed after this ‘haunted’ unfinished hotel in North Korea, and I guess I can see it. I just don’t buy it considering P.A.M’s last few collections which Ontour has mashed up and called their own.

Kilobads

Isn’t your look book supposed to make people want to wear the clothing? Maybe I’m just not the target market for Kilogoods these days, but I can’t image the market for French/South American Tektronic dancers is really big enough to go after? Whatever the case the new Kilogoods stuff is pretty whack. So you made a mediocre line, you still have good distribution and a solid stock list, as far as I know. So please just hire somebody who at least knows what looks really bad. I’m not saying you need in enlist Scott Sternberg to style the shoot. They don’t have to be crazy good, just not crazy. There’s always next season…maybe. Images from Highsnobiety

Next Level Sh*t

I came across this fall look book by Kts for the upcoming season. I didn’t want to put up on the Dailys as news because I didn’t want somebody mistake me for liking it. Because I don’t. It’s probably the worst thing I’ve ever seen. Unless I get a job as M.I.A’s hypeman there is no time I would ever think of putting this stuff on. I hope that goes for every other male out there too. So is it art? Or is it really terrible, or maybe even terrible art? My vote is on the latter. I think the designer has watched Alice in Wonderland a few too many time, on drugs. Look at the rest…

Tailor in Style: Harsh or Hilarious?

I came across this website a few months back and did a random check up on it last night. The site is about shirts, tailored shirts, how to wear them, and apparently how not to. The blogger rips into an Indian man who hasn’t been up on his blogs lately I guess. The writer gets into three different ways that make your shirt look bad. 1) Don’t use your pockets as storage 2) Avoid physical work 3) Don’t have too many stains on your shirt. I would say most of these are obvious, if your not working on the plains of Africa. The article is harsh in that it’s making fun of this poor fellow who probably only owns one shirt, but at the same time is hilarious. It’s hard to say the authors intentions, but it is worth a read.

Pharrell Williams, Connoisseur

Men.Style.com recently caught up with Pharrell for an interview in his Ice Cream and Billionaire Boys Club store in Soho. Pharrell talks about being a connoisseur and some of his exuberant pieces, such as his iced out G-Shock and purple crocodile Hermes bag.

Sidney Lo x Self Edge

This is hilarious. Self Edge and Sidney Lo put together a window display at San Francisco’s denim specialty spot, Self Edge. The fake Sidney characters sporting his Flathead attire, complete with the same background used in his 365 days of photos. The Sidney hair turned out funny, check out his blog for some good shots.

Arkitip Magazine No. 0046

I received my Arkitip in the mail the other day. Issue No. 0046 have 3 different covers from Kevin Lyons, Michael Lyon, and Ben Dury. I went with the Kevin Lyons. It came with a Beams x Arkitip T shirt as well which definitely was a nice selling feature for me. It comes as a heat transfer that I have to press on myself, only problem is an iron is apparently not hot enough. I’m not sure if I can do this myself as I’m not an experianced T shirt printer. Anybody got some suggestions or do I need to take it somewhere? The magazine has some great work as usual, with some nice clean layouts, and great photography. Definitely worth the purchase. Thanks for making dope stuff Arkitip.

Fall on me

This installation done by Mr. Stipe at the Rogan vs. Stipe party looks great. For some reason I find myself really liking piles of boxs and the things people do with them, it looks cool. I saw an office that somebody had set up only using fedEx boxes and it was rad. This cascading box pile filters down, through, and out of the window onto the sidewalk. It looks cool, thats it. Dior Homme: Edward Scissorhands Collection

I’m not sure…But I think I might know where the inspiration came from for the new Dior Homme line. Edward was way ahead of his time. Dior shot from Selectism

Snkr Frkr Brisbane Shoe Swap

My first post on h(y)r collective took me too long. I’m always down under, but I was recently down at the Sneaker Freaker Shoe Swap in Brisbane. There were lots of collections out on display; shops, people, and shoes. It was pretty packed on the mean streets of Bris but all was good on a nice sunny day for sneaker connoisseurs. Not too much I really got excited about though. Check out the coverage on SNKR FRKR.
