Livestock x Ghost

Livestock has joined up with Ghost RIS crew from New York for this t-shirt design. This is one really good collaboration in my eyes. If you are familiar with Ghost’s work, then good I’m happy for you and if not get up on him. His work is always fun and full of color and he is a NYC graffiti legend. Good to see this from the Livestock crew as the first in their artist series. They have said that they will drop a new design every 45 days so I can’t wait to see what’s next. These drop on Saturday April 26th so get to your nearest Livestock location. Read more

Choque: Brazilian Graffiti

I don’t know much about this, but it’s nuts. These crazy ass Brazilians are climbing the sides of these old buildings and completely destroying them, filling the whole wall with their crazy hand styles. Their tags look pretty weird, but they are definitely going hard and catching about as much reck as humanly possible. Check out the flickr site.

ART!

There are three art shows I recommend checking out this month. The first one is the Vertical Gallery exhibit down at Open Space, located at 510 Fort street, featuring some very cool porcelain-cast underwear (photo). This show will be running until April 30th and you can get more info at www.openspace.ca

The Next show is the Camosun College grad show, 32 POINT PERSPECTIVE, showcasing a wide array of work from some up-and-coming talents. The exhibition will continue to run until April 25th, with the galleries being open 12-7pm daily, held in units 41 and 45 in the bottom of Market Square.

The Last venue is the UVic Visual Arts BFA Grad Show, exhibiting work from 40 emerging new artists. The show will be running until April 26th, 10am to 5pm daily in the Visual Arts Building on the UVic campus.
