Stussy x Brooks x Wilson Bros Saddle
This is pretty much a straight heater. I love white bike seats to start off with, although mine has since turned more of a denim stained white, they look amazing and accent anything white on the rest of the bike. No need to get into the quality and style of Brooks saddles, but then mix in the Wilson Bros who I believe put together that really dope AF1 Nike track bike. Stussy manages to bring the best of all worlds together, whether it be art, skate, street or bikes. It’s an incredible company that has really been able to do a lot of positive projects around the world. This is just another example of what they can do, which is anything. Check out the box, damn. I wonder how many Stussy spots are going to get these.

What’s the Point?
Do any of you ever buy the products I talk about? Have you ever helped your friend find something you’ve read about here or found out about products you didn’t know about and now feel better for realizing their existence?
Sometimes I wonder why I even started blogging about so much of this ’stuff.’ It’s stuff every day, shoes, shirts, bags…Sure it’s really nice stuff and I like it all, but I sometimes wonder why so many people are interested in reading about the stuff. Why am I addicted to stuff? I don’t even need to have to too much, but I like knowing about it and forming an opinion and apparently publishing that opinion. I get stressed out if I haven’t blogged for the next morning or if I know I won’t be able to for a day. Who will blog, will people come back? It’s weird that I am actually concerned with that by itself. Whatever the case, I guess I will keep doing it because I do find it enjoyable. I love seeing the comments and knowing that people seem to enjoy the magazine and blog. So thank you for reading and getting involved. With that said, I’m sorry about the delay on issue six. It should be up by the end of the day I’m hoping.

Weekend Recommendation: Exercise
A lot of us spend a lot of time in front of computers, in stores, drinking coffee, maybe riding a bike on occasion, but we probably aren’t getting enough exercise. Healthy body, healthy mind, right? I know I personally feel a lot better if I could for a run, do some sit ups, or play some ball. These activities are easy to not find time for, however they are just as essential as a pair of grey wool slacks and boots this fall. I really find that keeping a good exercise routine helps keep your mind fresh, and your body feeling good. Unfortunately over the last few weeks I haven’t been staying up and a couple days ago I started feeling really bogged down. Two days ago I went for a run and worked out and I feel fresh again, no extra sleep, still have tons of work to stress about, but I feel better. I guess that this again comes back to the post about time and time management. It’s easy to let the days events swallow you up, so it’s necessary to make time for yourself.
Incase Messenger
Incase has been killing it lately, there is no denying it. There goal is to create “the highest quality carrying solutions in all AppleĀ® product categories and for all situations [and] aim is to rise above conventions.” Through working with Apple, the creative connections are obvious for those relating to the products and using Incase. It has lead to collaborations with Arkitip, KRINK, P Rob, and UDFTD to name a couple. Now they are stepping up their mobile functionality with this new messenger bag. It has pretty much everything you could need or want in a messenger, but likely a safer place to rest your Mac Book while cutting through the city traffic. The simple, effective design is no surprise and is very welcome. The messengers are now available here.
Macaframa World Premiere
It’s finally going down. There have been a lot of people looking forward to this film since Macaframa has been teasing us with a beautiful series of 30 preview clips over the past several months. Colby and Colin are probably just as excited as anyone to get their film into people’s eyes and hands. September 24th is the official premiere date in Las Vegas. If you hadn’t had a chance to get to know these dudes, we did a pretty dope feature on the directors and riders from Macaframa in our 4th issue. So you might have to dig back into the features, and into the archives, but it will be well worth it. If you’re new to the site you need to catch up on things and hit up those archives as well. In the meantime, 3 days until the world premiere. Congrats.
Empty your Cache - Issue 5 is Live
That’s right, we back and going stronger than ever. Issue 5. The biggest issue yet. 6 features, 3 focus articles, 6 columns, 1 photography feature. Some people might have a hard time viewing the new issue, you just need to clear you cache, open up the site, and enjoy. We also have some cover art from Alex “Bosco” Picard who’s making moves in NYC. I hope everyone enjoys the issue, tell your friends, blog about it (multiple times), also let us know what you think, emails, and comments are more than welcome. Enjoy. Read it HERE.

Mike Martin for United Arrows Japan
Mike Martin, Mash director and photographer extraordinaire, has been picked up by United Arrows Japan to do a couple photo print T shirts for the Beauty and Youth campaign. The three shirts are taken from shots in Mike’s growing portfolio. I personally really like his style and use of lighting and black and white shots. The scar shot, Gabe’s hands and bike, and th re-branded pick up truck have been the shots selected. I can easily say I would wear all three of them. You can get them here.
Our Legacy Website Update
Our Legacy has now updated their web presence quite substantially with a fair bit of content, information on their fall line, as well as some of their processes, and their illustrated work. The website is meant to look a bit like an office and the way files are stored on older computers. I actually quite liked their previous layout, but the new site definitely offers a lot more content for fans of the line to go through which is nice, and something most designers don’t do. They also hinted at their S/S 09 line which looks amazing. I’m really excited about it, even though they just began releasing their fall line, it seems like the S/S line is another step ahead for the Swedish fellows. It will also mark a strong entrance into the North American market which will be good to see.
Issue Five Preview
Well it’s just about that time again. This month has flown by. Summer is almost over, school is starting again for some people, including me. Five issues is a handful. This next time year maybe we’ll even feel established in the web publication game. It’s really only been five months and we are going stronger than ever. Anyways, in our upcoming issue we have some interesting stuff. We talked to one of Canada’s leading distributors, C2Apparel, chopped it up with Jeff Ng/jeffstaple, talked to Brendon Babenzien about his work with Supreme and Aprix, we caught Jake Davis in the middle of filming the short for his upcoming film, Cool Hunter, and hung out in Super Champion with Tyler Lepore. We also included our Fall Essentials and an exclusive preview of Unis’ fall line and of course have your monthly Sneaker Diaries, music reviews, and I want that column plus a little more. Stay tuned for the drop next week.
Hedi Slimane Diary
I don’t know how many of you check out Hedi Slimane’s photo blog. It’s no surprise he’s a talented photographer and has had his work published in numerous magazines and books in the past year or so. I find it funny a guy like this is just hanging out in a skate park, taking photos of young kids riding bmx’s, skating, and smoking. Or am I? Whatever the case he has some beautiful shots of old double R’s smoked out with their mint condition hub caps and hood ornaments. He also has some nice shots of skid marks on ramps, probably my favorite photos recently uploaded onto his blog. What would you do if yo dropped in on a mini ramp and saw Hedi snapping flics of you? Would you go talk to him? Ask him a few questions? Or just leave me be? I think if it was me I would probably have to get him to do a photo shoot of me interviewing him.
Igor Kenk: The Bike Devil
I had heard about this story and guy recently on the news and thought it was pretty crazy. South Willard posted a short story on who the guy is, what is was doing, but still nobody can figure out really why he had nearly 3,000 stolen bikes tucked away. He recruited mentally ill guys to steal bikes for him. Perhaps he might be mentally ill, although it might also be the pounds of cocaine and weed they found at his house. Anyways Mr. Kenk has been decleared the world champion of bike thieves by the Toronto police. Read why here. And if you live in Toronto and have had your bike stolen, there is public viewing of the amasses goods. Apparently only 500 people have claimed their bikes back so far. Along with the 3,000 stolen bikes, the story reports that Igor also had a large number of brand new bike locks? Hmmmkayyyyy.
Super Champion Update
For those of you who aren’t familiar with Super Champion, you should be by now. You should have at least clicked the ad once and checked it out. If not, they recently updated their site with some new shots, and news of some NJS product coming through. Read the funniest blog post you’ll read today here. Tyler has been killing the track bike scene in Vancouver for over a year now with his shop, you’ll be able to learn and hear more from him in our upcoming 5th issue of h(y)r collective. I got to hang out in the shop with him for a day and talk about bikes, business, and bikes. He’s got some amazing products, if you can’t find that rare or special part yet, or can’t find the right color? You definitely need to hit up Super Champion. That includes the Futura or Stash Colnago you’ve been trying to cop.
