Issue 7 Preview

It’s almost that time already. Just when I thought I was getting in the groove and it was becoming routine, turns out I just got slightly lazy and started focusing on other things a bit more. As is life and fortunately in online publishing with no other stakeholders, there are no deadlines officially. Also since the last issue launched a few dates into the month, I didn’t want to cut short their time to shine, so we are looking to have Issue 7 published around the end of next week or possibly sooner if nothing goes wrong. The issue is definitely the least fashion focused yet, while that is and has been the main topic for h(y)r collective, this month we talked to Black Milk about touring in Europe and his new album, Sarah Kahn, a French designer and art director, BPMW one of the most influential agencies in the business, (Malin+Goetz) and Mjolk. Lars, the designer of Mjolk was one of the most friendly and fun guys we hung out with back in New York, since I’ve become a huge fan of the collection and we are please to give an in depth look into him and his work.

Michael Bastian

Just came across former Bergdorf Goodman fashion director Michael Bastian’s Spring ‘09 collection. While a lot of it is very casual, classic American summer wear, I was pretty impressed by the suiting which is a bit different. Different in a sense that you don’t often see coloured one-button jackets, 3-piece suits or shawl lapels too much anymore, especially ones as well fitting as these ones all look. I’m still not digging double breasted suit jackets though. I’d love to see some of the pieces in person although, unlike BPMW, I’m not too sad that I missed the runway show at Fashion Week full of ‘cute hunky dudes’.  (Via wearthemarket) Read more

Capsule TV: Our Legacy

I just came across this video from Capsule and now you are. Cator Sparks, freelance writer, interviews our friend Jockum from Our Legacy and hits him with some good questions about his shorts and what’s under them. Apparently Jockum is going to show him later, classic Jockum if you ask me. For the rest of you in the unknown, there’s an educational tidbit, Stockholm is in Sweden. Capsule was definitely a good time thanks to BPMW. I’m looking forward to next year’s event and meeting up with the Our Legacy fellows to catch up after their North American infiltration. Check the video here.

With Capsule set to go down in New York next week, the progressive agency behind the show, BPMW, are doing something a little extra. BPMW is definitely a unique agency from the work they do in PR, the brands they represent, their trade shows, and their events. Now to get the word bumping about their latest show, a bunch of the brands and shops involved in show are putting on some small sales, having bbq’s, and providing some adult beverages. The idea is pretty cool, getting people out in the streets, whether or not you’re attending the show, the folks at BMPW/Capsule have you covered. Highlights are sales/drinks at Reed Space and a free lunch at Save Khaki.
