LL Bean Fighter Jacket

While it’s hard to bank on how well this jacket might fit, I am really loving the style and the worn looking brown leather. The LL Bean fighter pilot inspired jacket is one of the most simple, most appealing styles I’ve seen this fall. The collar on most of these jackets usually throws me off when it’s that white/cream color but the black makes it stand out a lot less and in turn look a lot better. I know a couple of my friends are on the tall side so having the option of a tall version is also pretty good as finding a bomber style flight jacket is hard to do when your even over 6”. For $359 the LL Bean option is looking pretty nice, but I would definitely recommend trying it on before a purchase.

I´ve been looking at LL Bean flight jackets myself, which, especially on ebay seem to be a great value. Goat skin jackets for no more than 100$, yes please. And as you said, the availability of tall sizes is great.

I’ve had one of these for nearly 15 years. I’m 27. I bought it in a vintage store in Topanga Canyon called Hidden Treasures. It was $26 and I was with my mom. I’ve worn it all over the world and almost got dumped for wearing it in public with a certain narrowminded lady. I left it up in Northern Minnesota this summer (where I used to work) and a few weeks ago my boss’s house burned down. Hopefully one of her kid’s is wearing it this winter. As sentimental as it was for me I can’t imagine losing EVERYTHING. It’s funny that you’ve posted about this because I’ve been thinking about this coat everyday since the fire.

    Nice taste, as usual, Ryan.

Thats a great, and sad story. Sorry to hear about your boss’ loss and also yours. That’s pretty wild. Sounds like the jackets can hold up pretty well.
