Lupe?
As most people know, the VMA’s took place the other night and Kanye performed his new track from 808’s and Heartbreaks. As far as the song goes, it’s decent, and as always I’m looking forward to the album. I wanted to bring some attention to another member of the CRS crew however, as I came across this shot of Lupe Fiasco on the red carpet. Lupe has been well know by ’streetwear’ cats for his rhymes and his taste in clothing. As young men grow, fashion progresses, times change, and some people can flip the script on their steez. Lupe Fiasco, only a year and a half ago was designing pieces for Artful Dogger, now he seems to be hitting on the equestrian aesthetic. In no way am I hating on the look, I commend him for being able to pull it off to some extent and push fashion within hip hop. I’d have to say only Andre 3000 and Kanye have been able to pull off such diverse looks in the past few years, now it seems Lupe is stepping into that realm. I have a feeling these pieces aren’t from his Trill and Truly line.
