Journal Standard Deck Shoes

Yes, another version of the boat shoes, this time adopted by Journal Standard. They really seem like the middle ground between Visvim’s Folk Hockney and the original Sperry Topsider. Of course the added colors are nice. I personally really like the red, gray, and burgundy. The shoe looks like its made of a softer suede/leather than the Sperrys for some added comfort. It definitely looks a lot like the midsole from the Visvim model as well, none the less, the final product by Journal Standard is looking pretty fresh right now.

Right now, as far I can tell, after some serious internet searching, the only way to get them is if you have a connect in Japan. Online they are sold out at Zozotown, and there are only like 5 pairs left at Style Cruise.

They aren’t actually Journal Standard brand… JS is a chain of shops in Japan that carry pretty much unknown brands of sweet shit like these. I think that these are actually a collabo with a portugese brand called Danassa that apparently doesn’t exist either… here are some plain old Danassa’s though: http://nomad.nablog.net/blog/20196404.html

    Japan is crazy like that.

If anyone is really really fiending for these send me an email and I might be able to set something up for you… owen@hyrcollective.com
